Create Unique Teacher Appreciation Cards

Stamping Up Blog Hop

Learn how to create unique teacher appreciation cards in this first week of May. After reviewing this month’s Blog Hop challenge, I was immediately inspired to focus on creating some unique cards. I decided to create “Teacher Appreciation” cards to show my appreciation to the many colleagues I work alongside for sharing their passion and expertise with others.

In this blog hop, several “Sweet Stampeders” gather together to create a handmade card following a specific layout design shown below AND added a twist with the new 2025-2026 In Colors. Check out the fun cards I was inspired to create with this month’s challenge.

When you see the design and color challenge, what do you start visualizing? Pencils?

If you do, this is exactly how I decided to create my teacher appreciation cards.

10 Steps to Create

1: The card base is Secret Sea ~ 4 1/4″ X 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.

2: I created another card panel with Secret Sea ~ 4″ X 5 1/4″ and a window sheet 4″ X 5 1/4″.

3: Cut strips of white, Timid Tiger, and Darling Duckling card stock into strips about 1/2″ to 3/4″ wide and about 3 3/4″ long. I stamped “thank you” on the strips since this is a teacher apprecationa card. I also added the second sentiment to the white card strip. Some stars stamped on the Timid Tiger strip add additional texture.

4: Arrange the strips following the layout design above. Adhere the strips to the window sheet panel with multipurpose glue.

5: After the strips are adhered, I added dimensions to the window sheet and strategically placed them under the paper strips. When adhered to the Secret Sea card panel, this creates a floating illusion (another fun technique).

6: Adhere the card panel to the card base.

7: Use the punch or die for the circle shapes. Make sure one shape is slightly larger than the other shape.

8: I stamped a sentiment and a solid image to the circles. Choose a sentiment and stamp in Secret Sea. I used Real Red for the apple . . . well because teacher apples are red. LOLThen adhere the circle shapes to the front of the card panel with dimensions.

9: Cut a piece of ribbon 9″ long. Tie it into a simple bow and tuck under the top circle with a glue dot.

10: Finally, add some gems to the front of the card. Pro Tip: Always use an odd number of gems to fill in blank spaces.

Additional Design Samples

I created this sample using the same color and card design. You could easily change the apple for a different bunny or elephant for a baby shower card. Perhaps you want to change the apple to a graduation cap for a graduation card.

If you want to use up some designer series paper scraps, just pull coordinating colors and designs . . . and walah!! You have an alternative design that is perfect for your occasion!! Honestly, I love this design because it is so versatile. The ideas are endless.
