Handmade Cards for Guys ~ as Easy as 1, 2, 3
“Time to Celebrate” Handmade Masculine Card
This is the first card I made. I created this card using the same design layout from my post featuring Thoughtful Journey DSP. Since I wanted to create a masculine card for Father’s Day, this stamp set will be perfect. I think this card serves up perfectly!
Create this card: I used Smokey Slate, silver foil, black, and white card stock. I embossed the foil and used the nature dies to cut the circle that features the “Bistro Burger” stamp set. I love how Stampin’ Up! creates coordinating dies to cut out the images for this card. I added some linen twine and black dots to top off this card.
When I want to create an extra special card, I design the inside panel. Not only did I carry the colors into the inside, but I also made a pocket to insert a gift card. I was able to do this by adhering the black strip and the flames to the red designer series paper. To create a gift card pocket, only place adhesive on the outer edges of the red designer series paper – adhere the sides and bottom.
NOTE: I typically don’t add a sentiment to the inside of the cards, since I like to write my own thoughts.
I hope you enjoy this card and take the opportunity to create one of your own.
“You’re a Big Deal” Handmade Card for Guys
Check out this masculine card! I envisioned creating a “grill shelf” background panel blending the diamond-plated and wooden textures. How did I do?
Create this card: I used silver, black, and white card stock, and wood-look designer series paper. I used the stamp set and coordinating dies from “Bistro Burger” to feature an enlarged sandwich. Although the sentiment came from “Bistro Burger”, I used a die from Trusty Tools stamp set to cut out the sentiment banner. You can simply create a rectangle or use another rectangle die if you don’t have the Trusty Tools stamp and die set. I love that I can change up any design and make it my own.
When I created this hamburger, I used two hamburgers and cut the top bun off one hamburger to create a “big deal” better. Placing the sentiment between the two burgers certainly is a “big deal”!
Again, I wanted these cards to be extra special, so I completed the inside panel to coordinate with the front panel.
“Flame-Broiled” Handmade Card for Guys
My inspiration did not stop with the first two cards. Here is the third card I created by blending the prior two designs. Can you see the two designs? I pulled in the sketched background stamp to resemble a tablecloth base and kept the flames for a flame-broiled, perfectly grilled burger.
Create this card: I used Smoky Slate, black and white cardstock, and red designer series paper. When I added the jalapeno, I used the dies to create a knife. I placed a slit on the jalapeno with the Take-a-Pick tool exacto knife, then put the knife through the jalapeno pepper and placed it on top of the hamburger. I topped this one off with some red and white baker’s twine. Perfect!
I love how the flames come from the back and front of this card. I needed a little something to separate the black and gray. The flames did the job perfectly!
“Double All Beef Patty” Masculine Card
Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickle, onions on a sesame bun! Remember that???? Yes, THAT was my inspiration for this card! I also wanted to have a background that had a charred look. How did I do?
Create this card: I used Real Red and white card stock with some wood-textured designer series paper. Did you notice the background? I used a sentiment stamp to create this simple background. I love using stamps this way. The white card stock has torn edges, then I used Stazon to brush around the edges for that burn look. Finally, I put two hamburgers together by overlapping the image, and added the designer series paper for a table look. Finally, a sentiment and some linen thread are added to complete the look.
This card is a feast for a king! Even a dill pickle tops off this hefty burger. At this point in my stamp set design process, I have not used the French fries stamp. Can you believe it? So, I added some fries to the inside card panel for an extra treat.
“A Masculine Picnic” Card
Who is ready for a picnic? This card features our “Bistro Burger” with some French fries placed on a designer series table top!
Create this card: I used a real red card base and designer series paper with a black middle stripe. Simply stamp, color, and cut the hamburger and French fries and adhere using dimensions. I did a banner sentiment on white and backed it with a black banner. Add a black dot embellishment and you’re done!
I decided to carry the designer series paper to the inside and added a pickle for more interest.
This was a fun landscape card to create with a left-side fold. A perfect handmade male birthday card or any other occasion.
“Cool as a Cucumber” Handmade Card for Guys
And this is the last card I created with this stamp set. I wanted to feature the pickle. I thought the sentiment was perfect, although “dill” instead of “deal” would have been fun.
Create this card: I used the cucumber (aka pickle) to create the background. This is easily done by using Garden Green ink and randomly stamping the cucumber on the Garden Green card panel. I then created a feature panel with the sentiment. This was done by using the Garden Green ink pad on the top of the sentiment and Real Red on the bottom. Give it a huff and stamp. The silver mesh behind the panel is a retired item; however, there are a variety of embellishments that can be substituted for this mesh.
Check out the inside panel! I just stamped a few pickles and colored them in with Old Olive blends.
Another fun card featuring a completely different stamp from the Bistro Burger stamp set.

Most of the products are found in the 2024-2025 annual catalog; however, a few embellishment items are retired.
